Imagine an unconventional service provider where Veterans (from all eras) needing assistance with re-integration into their communities may receive support without government strings attached. Imagine a place that provides protection, mediation or counseling for Veterans suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and their families, children or young adults in conflict with peers or family members, or those struggling with addiction. This proposal outlines the steps that Blackdog Foundation must take to create this government detached ” veteran – free for all” infrastructure in the world of constant fear of government and bureaucratic involvement. To meet the challenge of this demand now and futuristically, Blackdog Foundation is requesting a one-time grant totaling $110,000 to invest in one-time set-up fees, along with a continuous annual endowment of $75,000 for operating, maintenance, and service cost.

The commitment of Blackdog Foundation is designed to create non-traditional application of Veteran outreach and counseling service. The foundation invites private parties to invest in the establishment of facilities and services as a tool to provide training to staff and students both locally and nationwide; so to increase community safety by using proven, innovative, and individual accountability methods. Blackdog Foundation will use grass-roots endeavor s that embrace veterans and welcome them into their communities. As they seek to serve those Veterans in Rural communities where no VA hospitals or vet centers exist or present hardship to access. Blackdog Foundation is aware that county band width is limited, state and federal government agencies cannot do it all. Officials have little time or manpower for follow-up processes and law enforcement can only respond once there is a crime or a victim. Thus allowing negative behaviors to become entrenched, creating perpetuating cycles. Unconventional, non-traditional outreach and guidance through Blackdog can conveniently demonstrate a cost-efficient, peer accountability, community-based approach; increasingly effective for widespread usage in rural areas.

The Blackdog Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit group designed to help assist in the recovery of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) for returning veterans, their families, friends, and community.
